Archery has a number of badge awards that you can achieve as you progress. They are great stepping stones that provide easy to reach goals.
252 Awards
252 rounds are 36 arrows on a 122cm target face using Imperial (5-zone) scoring.
You can only claim one 252 score per day and this needs to be the first round shot (this can be part of a longer round). You are allowed 6 sighter arrows prior to scoring the round.
To claim the badge you need to submit three scores (see below for the score requirements), if you achieve the maximum score of 324 then you can claim the badge immediately without submitting three scores.

Archery GB Progress Awards
The Archery GB Progress Award Scheme (Outdoor) uses the same round as the 252 and you can claim scores for both the 252 and the progress award at the same time. As with the 252s you need to achieve the score three times to claim the badge.
The distance you need to shoot and the scores that you need depend on your age group. A full set of scores is available on the Archery GB website.
Classifications
This is a score based scheme for seniors and juniors, shooting the rounds appropriate to their age. These are the classifications with Elite Master Bowman being the highest level:
Elite Master Bowman
Grand Master Bowman
Master Bowman / Junior Master Bowman
Bowman 1st Class
Bowman 2nd Class
Bowman 3rd Class
Archer 1st Class
Archer 2nd Class
Archer 3rd Class
Scores can be shot at a Club Target Day or Open Competition on any of the recognised Archery GB rounds, however as you progress through the handicaps there is a minimum number of arrows and minimum distance required to achieve each classification.
In order to get a classification you need to achieve a score greater than or equal to the target score across a number of rounds. The number of rounds depends on how long the rounds are and what level you are trying to acheive.
Classifications reset after a year so you will need to keep shooting them to maintain your classification.
Master Bowman, Grand Master Bowman and Elite Master Bowman scores must be shot at UK Record Status (UKRS) or World Record Status (WRS) competitions. Archers classified as Master Bowman, Grand Master Bowman and Elite Master Bowman are invited to the UK Masters national event. Claims for Bowman 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class and Archer 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class are administered by Archery GB clubs.
The list of scores appropriate to gender, age, round and bowstyle are in the Archery GB Classification Tables.
